I was first introduced to this book in high school when I began babysitting 2 little boys with boundless energy. They loved this book. I was pretty sick of dinosaurs by the end of our first day but I have to say that this book made a great impression and I recommend it wholeheartedly. It is lighthearted and kids see themselves in it and if you've had an exhausting day this is a good pick. The story itself is kind of a plea for the kids to go to bed and it takes all of about 2 and a half minutes to get through. - Stephanie S.

Originally published in 1930, The Little Engine That Could has become an almost trite story in a lot of ways. I picked up an original edition at a used book store the other day and was blown away. The illustrations are gorgeous. The message of perseverence is clear and strong, and embedded in a wonderful story. As many times as we have all heard this story, I encourage you to take another look, I am sure you'll like it and I have no doubt that another generation will embrace it as well. - Stephanie S.

If you've had this book since its publication in 2000, you are way cooler than me. I just found it. For those of us that grew up adoring comics and still do, this is a fantastic book to share with your kiddos. It features the work of over a dozen artists; some reinterpreting classic fairy tales and some inventing their own wonderful stories that are appreciated by parents and children alike. Do the right thing and get your kids started on comics young. Providing a copy of Little Lit for the little ones will also create a surefire diversion so you can keep all of your "graphic novels" safe from sticky hands. - Stephanie S.
