The price may seem steep for a child's rocker, but this is one of the few items marketed as "heirloom quality" that I think will really live up to its name. - Stephanie S.

"During our travels in the last few years, we have come across compelling modern items no longer in production. The Red Ball Rocking Horse originated from a design by Gloria Caranica entitled Rocking Beauty (1965), now in the public domain. A quintessential example of mid-century design, we believe it deserves to be brought back to the marketplace. This classic is made of two planes of intersecting bent ply connected by a stationary joy stick and topped expressively by a red wooden ball. Long after the kids have outgrown it, the Rocker will retain pride of place.

"A percentage of sales from the Red Ball Rocking Horse will support design education through a contribution to the AIGA scholarship fund."
